When setting up the Criticare monitors and encountering errors, things to try and look for:
-Verify the comport port settings “bitspersecond” matches the monitor baudrate
-Recommended connection 9pin null modem cable with a Serial to USB adapter.
-Verify IOT software is installed along with desktop runtime and .net core:
Device Manager Settings
- Click Start
-Right click on Computer (This may appear as the actual computer name depending on the setup of the workstation).
-Click Manage.
-Click Device Manager
-Click Ports (COM & LPT) to expand section
-Make note of each COM port number utilized by the workstation.
-Right click on the COM port
-Click Properties
-Select 38400 for 'Bits per Second'
-Click Ok.
Criticare Monitor print menu settings
Under the Print menu:
Print Type = Tabular
Alarm Print = Off
BP Print = Tabular
Interval Print = 1 Second
Interval Print Type = Serial
Serial Type = Tabular
Serial Format = CUSP
Baudrate = 38400
Placing Criticare Monitor into Simulation Mode
1. Click the rotational dial on the Criticare monitor.
2. Rotate dial until it hovers over Config.
3. Press the rotation dial to select Config.
4. Rotate dial until it hovers over "Enter Simulation Mode".
5. Press the rotation dial to select.
6. Enter PIA418 as the password.
7. Once the password has been entered, rotate the dial to select 'YES'.
8. Press the rotation dial to enter simulation mode.
Random reading will begin to appear on the Criticare monitor and, if the sound is enabled, it will begin to beep.
