Using Implant Tracking Recorded Class
Note: The Implant Tracking feature must be activated for your practice in order to select implants within a patient's chart. Implanting Tracking functionality is included in some subscription levels or can be purchased as an add-on module.
Sensei Cloud enables you to capture and store implant data in the patient chart when they have had implants placed in your office.
See How to Manage and Update the Implant Tracking Master List for information on adding or editing the master list of implants (Administration > Clinical > Implants). See How to Generate an Implant Tracking Report for information on tracking and reporting on implants (Location > To Do > Implant Tracking).
To add an implant to a patient's chart:
- From the Patient tab, select Clinical > Clinical Chart (EMR). The Clinical Chart (EMR) is displayed.
- From the Add to Chart drop-down list, select Implants. The Implants card is displayed.
Note: An implant record can be added to any clinical encounter. Using the Add to Chart control for the associated date/event will add an Implants card to that section of the patient's clinical history. - Select a procedure from the drop-down list.
Note: The available selections are any procedures from the last 90 days.
-The Tooth/Quad field is populated automatically, if applicable.
-The Insert Date field is the date of service for the procedure and is populated when the procedure is completed or posted.
-The Restorative DDS field is populated based on the active referral source (defined in the patient record) whose referral date is closest to the date of service. This is populated when the procedure is completed or posted. - Enter additional details in the Manufacturer, Reference #, Lot #, Brand, Size, Removal Date, and Notes fields.
-If you enter a Manufacturer first, and subsequently the Brand and Size, the associated reference number is populated automatically.
-Alternatively, you can enter the reference number first (type at least 3 characters and the options display) and the associated Manufacturer, Brand, and Size are populated automatically.
Note: The Removal Date can be entered at any point, but it must be a date that is after the insert date (it cannot be on the same date). - Click Create Implants. The Implants card is saved in the patient's chart.
You have the ability to record multiple implants for a patient at the same time. You can only have one Implants card per patient appointment/encounter, but you can document additional implants on one card. To add an additional implant to the Implants card, click the New icon in the upper-right corner of the card.
Click the Trash icon that is next to the New icon to delete the entire Implants card. Click the Trash icon that is next to the Pencil icon to delete an implant entry from the card, or click the Pencil icon to edit an entry.
You can view an audit of all changes when you click the Show History icon. Changes are indicated in red text.
Note: Under the Actions menu, you can filter the patient's EMR to display Implant cards only, or search for specific cards by entering information included on the card such as tooth number, date, etc.
For more information on using the Clinical Chart (EMR), see:
Note: You can also include patient implant information in a correspondence or clinical note template using the Implant Details merge field. This merge field pulls data from the patient's most recent implant tracking card in the Clinical Chart (EMR). See How to Manage Correspondence Templates and How to Create Clinical Note Templates for more information.
