From 1 April 2026, NHS England changed the way Unscheduled Care Claims (formerly Urgent Claims) are calculated. Previously, these claims were awarded a flat rate of 1.2 UDA per course of treatment. Under the new process, the number of UDAs awarded varies depending on the treatment items included within the course of treatment.
When an Unscheduled Care course is completed, it initially displays as 0 UDA in Sensei Cloud. When the claim has been submitted and processed by the NHS, a response is received from the NHSBSA confirming the UDA value that has been awarded. This value matches the information shown in Compass.
Reviewing and Settling Adjusted Claims
Since Unscheduled Care claims originally show as 0 UDA, these claims will return to the system with an Adjusted status.
To locate and review Adjusted claims:
- From the Location tab, select NHS Claims > Claims Management. The Claims Management list is displayed.
- From the Filter List on the left-hand side, change the status filter (i.e., Claims that are) from All Statuses to Adjusted. All claims with an Adjusted status are displayed.
To settle an Adjusted claim:
- Open each claim individually (i.e., by clicking on them from the Claims Management list).
- Review the UDA value awarded by the NHS.
- If you agree with the awarded UDA value, mark the claim as Settled by clicking Make Settled.
Note: If you disagree with the awarded UDA, you can return the claim to the NHS for review. However, it is recommended that you contact the NHS first to discuss the outcome, as the claim is likely to be returned with the same UDA value, unless an error has been identified.
