To ensure you receive correct UDA allocations when a patient needs a denture repair alongside regular treatment, you must split the work across two separate Courses of Treatment.
If you bundle the denture repair into a standard treatment plan, Sensei will not allocate the 2-UDA denture bonus correctly.
Use the following instructions based on what treatment you are providing:
Scenario A: Exam + Denture Repair (Total: 3 UDAs)
- Course of Treatment 1 (Main): Create a new plan and chart the Routine Examination. Set the NHS category to Band 1 (1 UDA). The patient pays the standard Band 1 fee unless exempt.
- Course of Treatment 2 (Separate): Create a completely separate plan and chart the Denture Repair item on its own. Set the NHS category to Denture Repair / Band 0 (2 UDAs). This plan is entirely free of charge.
Scenario B: Exam + Filling + Denture Repair (Total: 5 UDAs)
- Course of Treatment 1 (Main): Create a new plan and chart the Examination and Filling together. Set the NHS category to Band 2 (3 UDAs). The patient pays a single standard Band 2 fee unless exempt.
- Course of Treatment 2 (Separate): Create a completely separate plan and chart the Denture Repair item on its own. Set the NHS category to Denture Repair / Band 0 (2 UDAs). This plan is entirely free of charge.
To process this in Sensei Cloud:
- Never mix them: Ensure the denture repair item is completely isolated on its own course of treatment. Do not add X-rays, exams, or fillings to the denture repair plan.
- Transmitting: Complete and close both courses of treatment when the work is done.
- The Result: Sensei will generate two separate FP17 claims to transmit to the NHSBSA, cleanly securing your full 3 or 5 UDAs without any automated validation rejections.
