You can view and manage the payment plans for a practice location (or all of your practice locations) by navigating to Location or All Locations > Financials > Payment Plans.
The banner at the top of the screen includes a quick look at the total amount of all your payment plans, total remaining (amount left to be paid), total expected to be paid now, total number of payment plans, number of active payment plans, and the number of pending (not activated) payment plans.
Note: Any Pending payment plans (associated with the location) should be canceled for a patient that already has an Active payment plan for the given location. The pending plan cannot be activated since a patient can only have one active payment plan for a given location, so leaving pending plans in the list may cause confusion.
The Payment Plans list includes columns for the patient name, guarantor name, status of the payment plan, amount that is expected now, delay (number of days that the patient's payment is past due), installment amount, frequency of the payments, the total amount of the payment plan, the amount paid so far, the amount remaining, and the date the payment plan was created on.
From the Payment Plans list, you can perform the following actions:
- Print Current View -- Creates a PDF of the payment plan list
- Export Payment Plan List -- Exports the payment plan list to a CSV file
- Cancel Pending Payment Plans -- Select a plan with a Pending status, and click this option to cancel it
- Select a line item to view more details or take actions such as navigating to the patient ledger or payment plan
You can customize the payment plan list by using the following filter options:
- Payment Plan Status (Active, Canceled, Closed, Completed, or Pending)
- Payment Plans Created on All Dates or a specified date range (e.g., Last 30 Days)
- The number of days since the last payment
- Delay (the number of days behind that the patient is on the payment plan's agreed upon schedule, based on the outstanding payment plan balance versus the payments that have been posted and allocated to the plan)
- The amount expected now
- The remaining amount due
- The total amount of the plan
Tip: Click Reset to restore the filters to the default list view.
