Practices can integrate Sensei Cloud with 3Shape Unite software. This one-way imaging bridge allows you to trigger an intraoral scan and send patient details from Sensei Cloud to 3Shape, ensuring a streamlined workflow.
Important:
- This integration is compatible with 3Shape Unite version 1.7.83.0 or later. Using an older version might result in mismatched patient records. Be sure to update your 3Shape software if you are using an older version.
- Since this is a one-way imaging bridge, images acquired through 3Shape are not uploaded to the cloud or accessible directly in Sensei Cloud. However, the patient’s name and Patient ID connect the two systems to provide access to the images in 3Shape.
- For the highest accuracy, customers need to install (or reinstall) the imaging bridge on each computer that they want to use 3Shape to acquire or review images.
Set Up
From the Administration tab, select Devices & Integrations > Imaging, and then select 3Shape as an Imaging software used in your location.
You also can select if you want to map patients using Patient IDs or External Reference IDs. Select the green star if you want to make 3Shape the default for the practice location.
Note: If you have not installed the Imaging Bridge, follow the on-screen instructions. See How to Install/Reinstall the Patient Imaging Bridge for more information.
For multi-location practices, enabling the imaging software integration is per location. You must enable 3Shape in each location from which it will be used to acquire and review images.
Before using the integration, you also need to enter the path to the 3Shape software from a Patient tab.
To set the 3Shape path and begin acquiring images:
- From the Patient tab, select Clinical > Images.
- Click Acquire New Image. The Select Imaging Software to Use window is displayed.
Note: If set as the default for the practice location, 3Shape is automatically selected. - Select 3Shape, and then click Launch Imaging. The Imaging Launcher Preferences window is displayed.
- Navigate to your 3Shape Unite software.
- Click More > Settings.
- Click 3Shape Command Line Interface. The Application path is available on the screen.
- Next to the Application path, click Copy.
- Return to Sensei Cloud.
- In the Imaging Launcher Preferences window, right-click in the Executable Path field, and then click Paste.
- Click Save and Launch.
Acquiring New Images
Once the integration is established, click Acquire New Image > select 3Shape > click Launch Imaging to acquire new images for the patient via supported / connected hardware and 3Shape. Sensei Cloud shares the patient name and patient ID and 3Shape launches with the Patient in context to acquire.
Note: When you close 3Shape, Sensei Cloud remains open with same patient record displayed.
