You have the ability to enable a setting to track the time between a patient's arrival for an appointment (i.e., Check In time) and when they are ready to be seated. This time might be used for patients to complete paperwork, sign consent forms, obtain new images, or any other pre-seating activities that are needed before they are ready to be seen.
In order to track this time, the Location Tracks Pre-Seated Activities setting must be enabled for each applicable practice location from the Schedule or Diary Settings (Administration > Scheduler/Diary > Schedule/Diary Settings > [Select a Location] > [Click Edit Schedule/Diary Settings]). See How to Configure Schedule / Diary Settings for more information.
When this setting is enabled, there is an additional Set as Ready option after checking a patient in and before seating them. Click Set As Ready to indicate that the patient has completed any pre-seating activities and is ready to be seated.
An appointment is placed in the Waiting Queue when checked in and stays in this queue when set as Ready. The background of an appointment in the Waiting Queue changes from gray to the assigned color of the provider for the appointment when the patient has been marked as Ready.
When they are done waiting and have been seated, you can then mark the appointment as Seated, and the appointment is moved to the Seated Queue. The appointment in the Schedule/Diary Day View fills with color when seated.
Click on the appointment in the Seated Queue to view more information, including the time that the patient was Checked In, Ready to be Seen, and Seated.
Note: The appointment audit log also details the times that the patient was checked in, waiting to be seated, seated, etc. See How to View the Appointment Audit Log for more information.
