New Features, Fixes, and Enhancements
This release includes the following enhancements:
Provider Working Hours Templates
Sensei Cloud now provides a way to create templates for Provider Working Hours, and apply selected templates when setting up a Provider Schedule or Provider Diary. You can apply these templates from the Provider Schedule Planning (US) or Provider Diary Planning (UK) screen that you use to define a Provider's default working hours.
The new templates enable you to define more complex working hour patterns to apply as needed to specific dates to handle periodic, recurring deviations from standard default hours, such as summer or holiday hours.
To create Provider Working Hours templates, select Administration > Templates > Working Hours Templates. The Provider Work Hours Template list is displayed.
- Click Create New Template, or select a template from the list to edit the details.
- Select the time blocks on the calendar for the working hours, and then add (+) or edit (
) to enter Shift details. Time not blocked is considered non-working hours.
- Enter the Shift details such as Name and Location, and then click Apply.
Tip: It is recommended that the name be brief but descriptive enough to easily identify when selecting templates to apply. - Click Apply templates to access the Provider Schedule Planning / Provider Diary Planning screen.
From the Provider Schedule Planning / Provider Diary Planning screen, you can apply any of the available working hour templates to the date or date range of your choice.
- Select the Provider and Location from the drop-down lists at the top of the screen.
Note: You can only select and add a Working Hours Template if that template has at least one block associated with the selected Practice Location in Provider Schedule/Diary Planning. - Select the dates to apply a working hours template to (up to 31 days at a time), and then under Selected Day Details, click the new Apply Working Pattern option.
- Days that have a working hours template applied are indicated by a blue background.
- When a template is applied, the working hours for the provider are reflected in their assigned chair(s) in the Schedule/Diary for the selected date(s).
- You can remove a template from selected dates using the Reset Selected Days option from the Selected Day Details menu.
The following scenarios override any applied working hours templates:
- When dates are manually set as Closed
- When dates are manually edited to have unique hours
- When the Practice Location is set to be Closed on the selected date(s)
For more information, see How to Create and Use Provider Working Hours Templates and How to Set Up a Provider's Schedule.
Custom Payment Types
In response to DSO customer requests, Sensei Cloud now provides the ability to create and manage custom Payment Types to enhance your financial reporting abilities.
From the Payments screen (Administration > Procedures & Fees > Manage Payments).
This feature allows you to create new payment types that break down core payment types into more specific types for advanced tracking and reporting purposes.
You can also edit all payment types for Status (Active/Inactive) and designate which types will appear on On Deposit Slips.
- Under Actions, click Add New Payment Type to create a custom payment type.
- Enter a unique Name and select the Payment Type. This Name is the specific subcategory of the selected Payment Type. (For example, you could use "Discover" or "Visa" with the Payment Type Credit Card or "BCBS Premium" with the Payment Type Insurance - Check.)
- Select the On Deposit Slip checkbox if you want to include this payment type on deposit slips.
- Click the Checkmark
icon to save the payment type.
- Edit the Status to Inactive if you do not want a particular payment type to be available for selection moving forward. Deactivating a payment type will prevent its future use but will not impact existing transactions that have been posted.
- Edit the name of a Payment Type.
Note: Editing the name of a payment type updates all existing transactions to reflect the new name, thus updating existing payments posted to the ledger and all related reporting.
Tip: You can filter the list by the core Payment Type (e.g., Credit Card, Debit Card, etc.) as well as by the status of the type (Inactive, Active, or All).
New payment types are immediately available for selection from the Post New Payment window, and are appended with the core Payment Type at the front of the name: [Core Payment Type]: [Custom Payment Type Name].
See How to Create and Manage Payment Types for more information.
