The Appointment Flow Visualization feature allows you to assign custom colors to appointment states so that you can quickly identify the status of an appointment from the Appointment List. The appointments in the list change color depending on their status (and the associated in-office location of the patient).
Appointment Flow Visualization must be enabled in your Practice Settings as well as the Manage Appointment View settings in the Appointment List.
To enable appointment flow visualization:
- From the Administration tab, select Practice Settings > Appointment Flow. The Appointment Flow Visualization window is displayed.
- Click Edit Appointment Flow Settings.
- Select Yes next to the Identify Physical Locations for Appointment States setting. Additional fields are made available.
- Enter a location name in the Patient Location in Practice field for each Appointment State and select an associated color.
Note:
-- There are default locations entered in the Patient Location in Practice field, but you can edit these as needed. For example, the Patient Location in Practice might say Lobby for both the Checked In and Waiting to be Seated states, etc.
-- You can keep the default associated colors for each Appointment State, or click the color square to select a custom color.
-- You cannot edit the Patient Location in Practice or color for Scheduled and Cancelled appointment states. - Click Save.
- Navigate to the Appointment List for your location or all locations (Location or All Locations > Appt Worklists > Appointment List).
- From the left side panel, click the Manage Appointment View Settings/Cog
icon. The Manage Appointment View window is displayed.
- Select Use Appointment Flow Visualization.
The appointments in the list change color, and there is a key added to the left side panel.
See How to Use the Appointment List for more information.
