How to Add a Bridge in the Hard Tissue or Dental Chart

When documenting an existing bridge on a patient's Hard Tissue Chart (US) or Dental Chart (UK), use Current Mode. When planning a bridge for the patient, use Planning Mode. 

Existing Bridge

To document an existing bridge:

1. Select Patient > Clinical > Hard Tissue Chart/Dental Chart.
2. For Mode, select Current.
3. Select the teeth which make up the bridge by a single click on each tooth number on the chart, and then select Bridge.
   
   You are prompted to confirm.
4. Click Confirm. You are prompted to select either Pontic or Abutment and then a material for each tooth. 
5. Select the appropriate indicators for each tooth. The chart saves the selections and adds a clinical note.

Note: You have the ability to chart subsequent surface-based charting on abutments when a bridge has been charted (e.g., decay, a chip, etc.).

Planned Bridge

To plan a bridge for a patient:

1. Select Patient > Clinical > Hard Tissue Chart/Dental Chart.
2. For Mode, select Planning.
3. Select the teeth for the bridge by a single click on each tooth number on the chart, and then select Bridge. You are prompted to confirm.
4. Click Confirm. For the first tooth in the list, you are prompted to select either Pontic or Abutment.
5. Make your selection. A list of related procedure codes is displayed.
   Note: You can use the search field to narrow down the list of codes displayed.
6. Select the code for that tooth. You are prompted to do the same for the next tooth in the list.
7. Repeat for each selected tooth. A clinical note and visual representation are added for the planned treatment.
