You can print an excuse letter for a patient's appointment during the checkout process, or from the Patient Snapshot at a later time, as needed.
Checkout Process
To print an excuse letter:
- When an appointment is completed, the Patient is displayed in the Checkout Queue. Click the Patient to expand the window and perform the checkout-related tasks.
- Click on Excuse Letter.
- Click Complete Check-Out. The excuse letter is generated in a .PDF file that you can print for the patient.
Patient Snapshot
To print an excuse letter for any previous appointment:
- From the Patient Snapshot, select Print Excuse Letter.
You are prompted to select from a list of patient's appointments. - Select an appointment and click Print. The excuse letter is generated in a .PDF file, and you can print it out or email it to the patient.
Note: If the stock Excuse Letter template is not to your liking and you would prefer to create your own custom letter (that can be printed at any time), then you can create a Correspondence Template and utilize it through Patient Correspondence.
