Sensei Cloud allows you to quickly and easily record the plaque and bleeding observed during examination and store these findings in a Plaque & Bleeding Index exam.
The Plaque & Bleeding Index exam can be accessed from the Other Exams section of the Perio Chart (Patient > Clinical > Perio Chart).
To create a Plaque & Bleeding Index exam from the Perio Chart:
- Under Other Exams, click Plaque & Bleeding Index. The Plaque & Bleeding Index exam window is displayed.
- Under Actions, click Record New Exam. A graphical chart of the patient's teeth is displayed (which is inherited directly from the Hard Tissue/Dental Chart).
Note: When a patient does not have an existing Plaque & Bleeding Index, a message is displayed with a Record New Exam? link directly below it. - Under Plaque, click on tooth surfaces to indicate plaque. Surfaces with plaque are marked in yellow.
- Under Bleeding, click on tooth surfaces to indicate bleeding. Surfaces with bleeding are marked in red.
Note:
-- The Combined section combines the entries for plaque and bleeding and is updated automatically.
-- The Plaque and Bleeding percentages are displayed in the upper right corner as well as next to the Plaque and Bleeding headings. These percentages are calculated automatically based on the number of tooth surfaces with plaque or bleeding. The percentage is essentially the number of recorded findings (plaque or bleeding) divided by the number of teeth included in the exam, multiplied by four (for the available recording points). - When finished, click Save Exam.
Note:
-- The Plaque and Bleeding Index exam values are completely separate from the bleeding recorded and scored in the full perio exam. The existing/recorded data is not shared between the two exam formats (even if recorded on the same day).
-- Use the Return to Full Perio Exam button under Actions menu to exit the Plaque & Bleeding Index and view the Perio Chart.
Use the Display Exam from drop-down list to view past plaque & bleeding exams.
From the Actions menu, you can:
- Edit Exam: Update exam values (Note: Updates can only be made on the same day an exam is recorded. If it is no longer the day of the exam, a new exam has to be recorded).
- Delete Exam: Delete the selected exam. A warning message is displayed asking you to confirm.
- Print Exam: Print the selected exam.
-
Edit Exam Settings: You can edit your perio exam settings.
Note:
-- These are the general full Perio exam settings, so any changes to these settings are not limited to the Plaque & Bleeding Index exam. The Plaque & Bleeding Index is impacted by the the I don't probe section selections.
-- Any changes that are made affect the full Perio exam as well, and they do not take effect until a new exam is generated (i.e., exam will need to be cancelled and restarted to reflect any changes). - Clear All: When creating or editing an exam, you can clear all of the plaque and bleeding that has been entered and start over with a blank slate.
- Return to Full Perio Chart: Navigate back to the full Perio Chart.
