How to Chart a Retained Root

To chart a retained root in the Hard Tissue Chart (US) or Dental Chart (UK):

1. From the Patient tab, select Clinical > Hard Tissue Chart/Dental Chart.
2. Click the tooth number.
   
3. Select Set As Missing or Set As Extracted.
4. Click the tooth number again.
5. Select Retained Root.
6. If applicable, select Palatal, Mesial, or Distal. The graphic is changed to the retained root and a clinical note is added to the patient's chart. 
      
   
   Note: Select a tooth number and then select Remove Retained Root(s) to remove the retained roots from the patient's chart.
