New Features, Fixes, and Enhancements
Payment Plans
Because Sensei Cloud customers are making their UserVoices heard, you can now set up and manage payment plans for patients with an outstanding balance (Patient > Financials > Payment Plans). You can define a plan by payment amount or specified length, and define multiple plans to help the patient choose which plan to use going forward.
- When you create a new plan, the patient's portion (total minus insurance amount) of the outstanding balance is automatically entered as the Payment Plan Amount.
- When you select a Frequency and # of Payments, the Payment Amount is automatically calculated.
- When you enter a desired Payment Amount, the # of Payments is automatically calculated.
- When you click Save Payment Plan, you are prompted to activate it now (active) or later (pending). Only one patient plan per location can be active at one time.
- Once a plan is activated, it is included on billing statements; you can also select the plan when entering a payment to the patient's ledger.
For more information, see How to Create a Payment Plan.
Location Payment Plans Worklist
Since payment plans are associated with a location, you can view and manage them from the Payment Plans worklist (Location > Financials > Payment Plans). You can filter the list by status, dates, amounts, and so forth. Click a line item for more details and links you can use to take a payment, print a statement, adjust the balance, view the ledger, or access the patient's Payment Plans screen.
For more information, see How to Manage Payment Plans for a Location.
COMING SOON: Automatic payments and multiple guarantors!
Patient Appointment Preferences
Sensei Cloud now enables you to save a patient's appointment preferences for days and times (AM or PM) in the Patient Record. When defined, the preferences display on the Appointment Card when scheduling the patient, and also trigger a notification prompt on the Scheduler when you attempt to move an appointment to time slot that is outside the preference.
To enable this for a patient, select Patient Record > Edit Patient Record > Patient Preferences. Next to Appointment Preferences, click Yes, and then define the patient's availability for each day.
For more information, see How to Set Appointment Preferences in the Patient Record.
Waiting List Enhancements
Earlier this year, Sensei Cloud added waiting list functionality to help track referral-to-treatment (RTT) progress and ensure that patients with specific needs are seen within a timely manner. This release includes the following enhancements to this feature:
- A Remove option has been added to the waiting list portion of the Patient Record (Patient Referrals section).
- The Clock Start date is now editable.
- You can now transfer a patient to a different waiting list while retaining the original start date.
- For locations with waiting lists enabled, three Status options are available: Active, Paused, and Stopped.
- The location of the waiting list is now displayed on the patient Home screen and Snapshot, as well as the Waiting List worklist for All Locations.
For more information, see Sensei Cloud Release 0.1.12738 | 09 Jun 2024 and How to Use Waiting Lists.
Clinical Chart (EMR) Improvements
Based on customer feedback, the Clinical Chart (EMR) screen (Patient > Clinical) has been updated so that all procedures documented for a single visit date are displayed together on one Procedures card. You can click Show All to expand this card to view more details and add notes.
For more information, see How to Track Visits with the Clinical Chart (EMR).
