Creating a New Procedure
To create a new procedure:
- Under Actions, select Create New Procedure. The Create Procedure window is displayed.
Enter a unique Office code and Office Description for the new procedure. - If the Treatment Type is not set automatically, use the drop-down list to select it.
Note: The Treatment Type determines whether an anatomy definition (tooth number, arch, quad, surface) is required when using the procedure code. If anatomy is required, users are prompted to enter the corresponding anatomy when posting the procedure code. - Enter a SNOMED Code, if applicable.
- If applicable, select Resets Recall.
Note: When this option is selected, the procedure can be selected as a default procedure for resetting recall when creating recall appointments. When completed/posted, it resets the patient's last/next recall dates automatically. When included in a group procedure, the Resets Recall status defaults to Yes. - If applicable, select Resets Last Small Radiograph Date.
Note: When this option is selected, the procedure code updates the patient's last Small Radiograph date when completed. The last Small Radiograph date is displayed on the Patient Snapshot, the patient's home page, clinical chart (EMR), routing slips, as well as the patient information when you click on a waiting queue appointment tile. - If applicable, select Resets Last Panoral Radiograph Date.
Note: When this option is selected, the procedure code updates the patient's last Panoral Radiograph date when completed. The last Panoral Radiograph date is displayed on the Patient Snapshot, the patient's home page, clinical chart (EMR), routing slips, as well as the patient information when you click on a waiting queue appointment tile. - Enter a standard number of minutes for the procedure, if applicable.
- Set the fee standard fee for the procedure.
- Click Create.
